Student Accessibility Services available on campus

The SAS office is now providing services on campus on Mondays-Wednesdays, 8AM-5PM. On Thursdays and Fridays, the SAS team is available remotely and can be reached by emailing or calling (206) 546-4545. All student appointments will be held virtually. Schedule a virtual meeting.

Student Accessibility Services (SAS) provides support and accommodations for students with disabilities attending classes both on campus and online. We will work with you one-on-one to accommodate your academic and personal needs and help you get the most out of your time at Shoreline.

Reasonable accommodations and modifications can be valuable tools for success in school. SAS can assist by providing, for example, the following accommodations:

  • extra testing time and quiet rooms to help focus on exams
  • audio and video captioning and alternative text formats
  • assistance with notetaking in the classroom
  • sign language interpreters
  • assistance with campus access
  • housing accommodations
  • early registration for classes
  • and more!

Students with apparent and non-apparent disabilities are eligible for services. Verification of diagnosis that is three years old or less is required. Students must be currently enrolled at Shoreline Community College to apply for SAS assistance.

Examples of disabilities SAS has assisted with include:

  • learning disabilities
  • vision and hearing disabilities
  • psychiatric disabilities
  • temporary physical disabilities (i.e. a broken leg)

Eligibility is evaluated both by Shoreline’s Policy 5114 and ultimately by SAS’s Program Specialist, who approves students’ verification of disability documentation.

Students that are enrolled at Shoreline and would like to work with Student Accessibility Services must complete a Student Application.

Sign into AIM, SAS's online portal, using your Shoreline email address and password and complete the New Student Application. Once submitted, we will be in touch!

Housing Accommodations

  • Assistance Animal Request Form (Residence Hall)This is a specific required request form only for those wanting an assistance animal to be with them when they are resident's of Shoreline's Residence Hall. Students making this request still need to submit the general Housing Accommodation Request Form above as well.


If you are a current Shoreline student that is already registered with the SAS office, you must request your accommodations through your Student AIM Portal every quarter.

Testing Accommodations

Students who have Testing Accommodations must submit an exam request through their Student AIM Portal. Check out these instructions for how to submit an exam request in AIM (Word).


Instructor AIM Portal

Students have rights and responsibilities and SAS, as well as Shoreline Community College as a whole, is committed to recognizing these.
